AMC Reports Increased Attendance with Strong Opening for THE ODYSSEY
AMC Entertainment has noted an uptick in global attendance, with over 4.3 million moviegoers participating in screenings during the recent weekend. This surge in ticket sales coincides with the release of THE ODYSSEY, which achieved the highest opening weekend figures for an R-rated film in AMC theaters in the United States since 2024.
To accommodate the significant demand for THE ODYSSEY, six AMC locations in the U.S. operated continuously over the weekend, offering showings for more than 85 consecutive hours. This decision reflects the company’s commitment to providing access to popular films and responding to consumer interest.
The increased traffic at AMC theaters signifies a potential revival in cinema attendance, particularly for films rated R. As audiences return to theaters, the success of productions like THE ODYSSEY may indicate a broader trend within the industry, highlighting a renewed enthusiasm for the theatrical experience.
